about

"Exactly a year to the day after the release of her debut full length, singer/songwriter Cait Leary brings us a new EP featuring five distinct, strong songs. On Nothing's Enough, Leary, who's established herself as an up-and-comer in the local acoustic scene, steps out with a full band and a thick sound that explores a palette of folk-driven sounds. Cait's pop-rich voice and accessible yet often clever lyrics, combined with tight production and arrangements make for an extra-pleasant listen with wide appeal-potential. The title track alone is worth the while, with it's Western lilt and 60s psych-folk vocals, and a hook that's hard to get out of your head."

Track Name: Nothing's Enough
What do you do when your heart's not home
I get real small and take to things
Like going around on my own
Reaching for something to help me remember
And hoping that I might get left behind

Fighting the truth with empty anger
Missing the point of the lesson
That I preach to every other person around
Falling in love with wrong ideas
And knowing it's all just a Catch 22 in the end

So at the end of a neverending hour
Day beside another day
I hope that you gave all your love away
I hope that you gave all your love away

Reach in my hat but the trick's not there
But my fingers pretend they could learn a little magic
By grasping at the empty air
I want to be more substantial
Than science says I am
But I can only seem to make things happen
When I'm lacking a plan

So at the end of a neverending hour
Day beside another day
I hope that you gave all your love away
I hope that you gave all your love away

Oh, wrong ain't wrong until I say it's so
Oh, and if you find our father let him know
Oh, we've all got a book of notions inside our heads
But nothing's enough when you're trying not to end up dead
And nothing's enough when you want the whole world instead

So at the end of a neverending hour
Day beside another day
I hope that you gave all your love away
I hope that you gave all your love away
I hope that you gave all your love away
Track Name: On The Run
Everything's set
Everything's ready
They've all got homes in the places they belong
That's how you know that it's going to get messy
No one can sit atop a circle for too long

So tell me I'm weak
Tell me I'm wrong
Tell me you're ready
I'll give you fear
Make you mine
Show you I'm strong
No one can taint my intent
If I hold steady
And no one can catch me
If I'm on the run
Oh, no one can catch me if I'm on the run

Your words would poison me
If I didn't think to question where they rise
Your insecurities shine brighter
Than your impudence and lies

So tell me I'm weak
Tell me I'm wrong
Tell me you're ready
I'll give you fear
Make you mine
Show you I'm strong
No one can taint my intent
If I hold steady
And no one can catch me
If I'm on the run
Oh, no one can catch me if I'm on the run

So why you always trying to bring me down to size
You may hurt me but you will not meet my pride
And I don't owe you no reasons or compromise
You say it's right
But only through your eyes

So tell me I'm weak
Tell me I'm wrong
Tell me you're ready
I'll give you fear
Make you mine
Show you I'm strong
No one can taint my intent
If I hold steady
And no one can catch me
If I'm on the run
Oh, no one can catch me if I'm on the run
Oh, no one can catch me
If I'm on the run
Track Name: Waiting For The Words
I'd like to place these thoughts
All into my open hand
If I could see them there
Well, maybe then I could understand

You plot your life out like it
Was something you've known all along
I'd dare to do the same but
I know I'd get it all wrong

Can't answer these questions for me
Just following the words as they go
Maybe I'll find the answers
Or maybe I'll never know

I wish I could take what's given
Be content with the life that's mine
But I can't stand inside this circle
There's something I'm determined to find

Can't answer these questions for me
Just following the words as they go
Maybe I'll find the answers
Or maybe I'll never know

I believe in my chances
I put faith in this time
Wherever it takes me
Whatever it makes me
Knowing wrong is learning right

There's something that's waiting for me
A note at the end of a song
All I want is to hear it right
But, for now I'm where I belong

Can't answer these questions for me
Just following the words as they go
Maybe I'll find the answers
Or maybe I'll never know

Grab ahold of my expectations
And let go of the things I've heard
My best bet is on perseverence
And taking the time
Oh, taking the time to wait for the words
