The debut album for Minneapolis singer/songwriter Cait Leary, "Just Let Me Have Tonight," recorded and co-produced with Grammy Award Winner Brett Huus (Bill Miller, Michael Martin Murphey).
The self-taught guitarist, wrote, performed and co-produced all ten tracks on the album, a dynamic mix of songs that demonstrate her mature songwriting and her child-like curiosity.
“These are the sort of songs that feel like they were constructed on the edge of a bonfire, late at night, while everyone else was sleeping; they are secretive songs, light and delicate but rough enough around the edges.” (Natalie Gallagher, Gimme Noise; City Pages).
She coins her guitar style, "finger rhythm," and puts a great amount of consideration into her melodies, naturally drawn into complex instrumentation that is noteworthy in its own right.
“Weaving between folk, pop-rock, and blues intermittently,” (Lindsey Matysik, Volume One) the songstress is a musical hybrid; poppy without the lyrical clichés, jazzy without the training, and sweet with a preference for profanity.
